Design it once. Every version automatic.

Automation for catalogs and print

We automate the steps your production repeats every week. Adobe InDesign and catalog and publishing production are at the center, alongside Photoshop and Illustrator. Your team designs; a dependable workflow handles the repetition.

We build our plugins with UXP, Adobe's current plugin technology for InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, on Windows and macOS.

On an intro call we'll clarify the next steps.

Bound catalogs stand on a shelf, one with a magenta spine, and an open catalog with a product grid lies in front.

Catalog production

Your catalog is built from product data, not copy and paste.

PDF output and prepress

Export runs on InDesign Server while your team keeps designing.

Data and web

Database, server and web portals for page planning, briefing and approval.

Five stacks of identical flyers, all the same height, stand in a row; only the color stripe along the top edge changes.

Custom plugins

Tools that know your templates, rules and file names.

Twelve page proofs are laid out as a page plan in a grid, three of them marked with a green flag.

Process analysis and consulting

We break down your production and tell you what is worth automating.

  1. The workflow, step by step

We break production down into briefing, page allocation, layout, export and approval. That shows which steps repeat and which should stay manual.

  2. Target plan

The plan names roles, tools and what stays manual. Comparing the page plan with the layout shows the gaps before they reach the print file.

  3. Result: a written concept

A written concept in stages: what we build, in what order, and what stays manual.

A handover set lies in a row: an open handbook with a flow diagram and a green index tab, a catalog, a checklist with three items checked off, and a pencil.

Training and support

Handover with documentation, and care when Adobe ships a new version.

  1. Handover

A handbook, API documentation and training, so the workflow doesn't depend on one person.

  2. Maintenance and new Adobe versions

A maintenance agreement if you want one: care whenever Adobe ships a new version, and a clear route for questions.

  3. Operation on request

We can run the server and portals for you, including as a Docker setup.

Typical tasks

Three example scenarios from practice.

  1. Language and promotional versions

One design, every language, country and price version, collected as a print PDF.

  2. Page management and approval

Every current page searchable in the browser, with change history and online approval.

    Data and web

  3. From briefing to page

Product management fills in an online briefing, and the plugin pre-builds the page in InDesign.

Where production gets stuck

  • The same page, redone by hand for every language and every promotion.
  • Prices and product data copied and pasted into the layout.
  • Exports that only one person on the team can run safely.

These are the steps we automate. Not the design, just the repetition.

Built in production. Made for production.

close to 100 million

catalog copies a year

Our tools come out of live catalog production with many language and promotional versions, not a lab. They support the production of catalogs with a combined print run of close to 100 million copies a year. We know deadlines, correction rounds and special cases from our own work, so we build tools that hold up every day: traceable, documented and easy for your team to run.

A stack of thick bound catalogs stands next to a press sheet with color control patches.

First the analysis, then a written plan in stages with a fixed price, then the build, then handover and support.

How we work

  1. Initial call

Show us what you produce and where it sticks.

  2. Analysis and plan

We describe the new workflow in writing, in stages.

  3. Build

In stages, tested on your real material.

  4. Handover and support

Documentation, training and, if you like, a maintenance agreement.
